Review of Soup and Satay at Jalan Jurong Kechil

I went to a charming cafe at Jalan Jurong Kechil called Soup and Satay which only recently opened. The satay was quite delicious – very nicely spiced with lemon grass, beautifully basted, moist and glistening. Mrs. T ordered the fish and chips which turned out to be ordinary. I had the mee soto which was quite yummy – the soup was peppery and not oily at all. The mee soto here is better than the famous Inspirasi mee soto in Bedok. Surprisingly, the best dish turned out to be the tauhu goreng – the spicy peanut sauce was the best I ever eaten.

Overall, a very good find. I would definitely go back to Soup and Satay.

  1. I’m amazed to actually find someone who wrote a review for my uncle’s cafe. Thanks and I do hope you recommend your friends over. =)

Oh and if you’re going there again, ask for “Yusry” (that’s me!), but probably I’m busy grilling the satay I couldn’t get out. Hehehe… Take care!

  2. thanks for your comments. Your satay is very good!

My only feedback is: (a) can you guys print a more manageable menu? I don’t like the gigantic one which is so cumbersome; and (b) how about introducing nasi lemak ala Madam Kwan see . Nobody serves this kind of nasi lemak in Singapore. Also, you guys have no rice dishes.

  3. Hey!

I knew that’s the problem. But the thing is, we’re new! I understand regarding the menu thingy, things will change in a few months or so. I hope the menu doesn’t turn you off (well, it makes you remember Soup and Satay better isn’t it?)

As for the Nasi Lemak, I’ll let my uncle know. He probably don’t want to serve too much because it might defeat his branding name “Soup and Satay”. I hope you understand.

Well, I hope you would patronize our cafe in the near future!
